Vignola Mare, located in the district of Aglientu in northern Sardinia, is a place that enchants with its natural beauty.
The Beaches
Originally a small fishing village, today it is a tourist destination that preserves unspoilt areas, surrounded by granite cliffs and Mediterranean scrub.
The sandy shore of Vignola Mare is divided into two parts: a larger one, in front of the village, stretches for over a kilometre and has golden-coloured sand with pink reflections thanks to granite grains and pebbles polished by the sea. The part beyond the small lake is also called La Turra or ‘tower beach’, as it lies at the foot of a promontory on which stands a 16th century Spanish defence tower.
Attractions
Imagine the sunset: the sun goes down behind the Spanish tower, emphasising the pinkish reflections of the sand and rocks. During the day, the sea and pebbles offer a thousand shades. It is a sight that captures the soul and makes you feel part of an unspoilt landscape.
